One of my daily pleasures is to immerse myself in nature. An array of parks and trails are nearby to explore. Mostly, I find myself in the quietude of the White Clay Creek, which can be traversed from many vantage points throughout my city.
The image in the Lens section is a fairly new trail that lines the outskirts of “my” city. Over six months ago a new section was added to the original trail, and it moves with grace through the center of town. It’s nearly noticeable, and that’s a strength. It’s marked, but easily crosses Main Street to lead to the woods.
Many other cities are using “retired” railroad tracks to make biking, hiking and walking trails, and that’s the impetus behind this one. But it extends ours for miles, and solitude is still possible, even in its popularity.
Note: As always I welcome any comment about this post or any part of my blog.
