Thankful is the theme of WordPress’ Weekly Photo Challenge. Yesterday I posted a tribute to Thanksgiving (click here) and I mentioned my adoration for Mother Nature.
So it is with sincerity that I proclaim my awe for her composition and palette. She provides an ever-evolving panorama of daily abundance.
Sometimes I must simply stand in her presence and observe. At other times I frame her contribution and shoot the scene. The images in the Lens section are examples of recent sunsets that inspired.
Although it is never as powerful as being there, the photograph is a stilling of the momentary awe. Thanks to WordPress for another opportunity to show the splendor of nature’s progeny.

Both beautiful photographs. My favourite is the first one for it’s more subtle colours.
Sunsets intrigue and are challenges to capture. Often it’s hard to be in just the right place. As you know, their palettes are fleeting. Thank you.

Both are beautiful, and the first has (looking for the words in English)… Eh, belle photo !!!
I must brush up on my French, because you are doing very well with English. Many thanks.
The first one is my favorite simply because I like the colors better. The second one is also excellent. I simply like the pinkish sky a bit better. Maybe a little less intense- more subtle- if you can call a sunset subtle. All sunsets are glorious when there is color.
I agree, brilliantly colored sunsets are a triumph at the day’s end. Thank you.
I love the colors in the first photo. It is only a personal preference for the second photo is equally beautiful.
For me sunsets are a constant source of pleasure, and there has been a recent intensity to them in my small town. Thanks.

I can’t so I won’t 😉 I like them both for different reasons. I’m always amazed at what you can get out of the iPhone 4S, and the silhouettes in the second are just great.

The camera in the 4S is the ONLY reason I upgraded from the 3GS. The new pano feature introduces in iOS 6 is awesome isn’t it!
When I discovered it, I became completely enamored. It’s a blast playing with it.
The second one. While I’m a HUGE lover of the color pink, the rich, golden tones in the 2nd pic makes it my fav.
