Let me know which you prefer and why.

Pens:

That’s a tall order: summarizing the myriad of life’s small and medium-size and larger paths that a day takes. WordPress Weekly Photo Challenge has offered that as a theme: a day in my life.

Everyday is a unique challenge; each provides a wide-open array of possibilities. Each can be scheduled or not.

I thoroughly enjoy the day filled with serendipity and promise for the new. But if you ask me what I’d miss each day, it would be much more than what I’ve shown in the Lens section.

That’s the profound glory of our life’s journey: discovery and re-discovery of what fills each of us with splendrous joy or dramatic flair or serious decision-making or wildly silly play. The simple pleasure received from a cup of tea or a newly-arrived book that aches to be opened. Some moments are for memory building and some just are.

We are creatures seeking. Each of us share commonalities and differences. And thankfully we can (mostly) push and pull into a day more or less our heart and mind’s desires.

Note: As always I welcome comments about this post or any part of my blog.

Excellent shots…. but love #2, composition… color …. reflections. very dramatic

  2. That is a beautiful and inspiring day filled with smiles and fun adventure.

  3. That discovery and rediscovery each day is a splendid thing isn’t it?

  4. Let’s hear it for number 2, the creek panorama.

    • Steve, when I see your images from the vast array of Texan wildflowers, I feel a wave of happiness for you. I also know how fortunate I am for the way my state and region have preserved the land. I can visit so many parks in a short distance from my home that my days are usually touched by one. Even on my daily walks I cross the White Clay Creek and its meandering are always new to me. Thanks.

Thank you for the beautiful pictures! I can’t decide which I like best because each has a story of its own!!

‘Some moments are for memory building and some just are.’ Love those words as well as the serendipity that selects, for me, which moments go where. My favourite photo is number 6. I don’t know why. Maybe it’s the backdrop and the proportions of man and nature. Or that your grandchildren are the foundations/the solid rock for the future.

  7. The woodpecker is the most interesting to me. The shot of the grandchildren would have been my favorite if it were composed differently. I think moving them to the right of the frame some more would have made for a stronger composition.

Love the cloudscape and the ‘Theatre’ picture which reminds me of those sticky Dynotape labels 🙂

Great series, Sally! I really like how you captured your grand kids on the last photo. Very precious.

  12. What a beautiful little woodpecker! I’ve never heard of that one before.
