I don’t know if your WordPress theme works the same as mine, but in mine, when I’m editing a post I can click an inserted image, and then the little pencil icon that appears as a choice above it, to get taken to a window called Image Details. In the Image Details window there’s a Link To pop-menu that offers four choices. If I choose Attachment Page I get the result that occurs on your blog when someone clicks an image. Instead, from the Link To menu I always choose Media File. That way, when people click a photograph in a post of mine, they’re presented with a window showing only the photograph, with no option to leave a comment. That way anyone who wants to leave a comment has to go back to the post to do so.
